Fire Station Staffing

The West Chicago Fire Protection District is a proud family of men and women dedicated to serving the diverse community which many of them live in. Two manned fire stations and one station manned by 40 hour staff serve the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Paid on Call staff complement the skilled full time staff. The following is a brief synopsis of the duty shift manning at each fire station.

Station 1 - 200 Fremont St.

• Shift Deputy Chief (Chief 806)
• Shift Lieutenant (Paramedic Engine 811, Truck 817, Squad 815 or Tanker 814)
• 2-3 firefighter/paramedics (Paramedic Engine 811, Truck 817, Squad 815 or Tanker 814)
• 1 Paid on Call firefighter supplement to above
• 2 paramedic/firefighters (Medic 810)

Station 2 - 1700 Powis Rd.

• Shift Lieutenant (Paramedic Engine 821, Squad 822)
• 2-3 firefighter/paramedics (Paramedic Engine 821, Squad 822)
• 2 paramedic/firefighters (Medic 820)

Station 3 - Maintenance Facility

• 40 Hour Lieutenant/ Paramedic (Paramedic Engine 831)
• 1 firefighter/paramedic (Paramedic Engine 831)
• 1 Paid on Call firefighter from 8am to 5 pm if Station 1& 2 are fully manned
